june 5 (jessica)

We left Malibu and we were treated to a wonderful dinner with the Jack family. The feast they prepared for us was better than anything we’ve eaten this week and may rival what is to come. Unfortunately, our fridge in the RV has randomly lost power for extended amounts of time, which means our food has gone bad. So that group trip to the super market to pick out our food for the week was a complete failure. Oh well, it was a good idea to stock up our fridge. How were we supposed to know that the RV would quit on us whenever it wanted to?

Another highlight of the day: we accidently locked the keys in the RV and I had to crawl in through the side window to retrieve them. Honestly, we need to make some spares before we are really up a creek. As for events, we went to a play at Conejo Valley Church of Christ to show our support to the youth group which are we speaking to tomorrow evening. The play was Charlie Brown put on my the high schoolers and was a light event to take our minds off of all the work that has been done this week. Afterwards, we went back to the Jacks to celebrate the marriage of Dusty and Cecily and watch the movie “RV.” What a great way to start the road adventure. Here’s to embarking on the open road tomorrow after our first youth rally…
